Amanda said: “People with learning disabilities have high health needs that can go unrecognised and unmet. This impacts on their life expectancy and quality of life and means that they are likely to be frequent users of general hospital services. It is really important that all staff have the knowledge and skills to meet the needs of people with learning disability whilst in our care. ”
