Our Child Development Service (CDS) colleagues hosted a drop-in engagement event on Saturday, June 6th. More than 30 children and family members attended.

Refurbishment plans for a single-site specialist centre at Calderdale Royal Hospital were on show.  Families were invited to comment on the plans, offer suggestions and ask questions.

A competition to decide a name for the new service was launched.

General Manager, Gill Harries, said: “The event is a continuation of previous engagement work with service users and demonstrates our commitment to keeping families informed and involved in our future plans for the service.”

Joanne Womack, Project Manager for the closure and relocation of services provided from Princess Royal Community Health Centre added:

“Families told us that the event was informative, friendly and fun. The children happily played whilst their parents and carers talked to us about the plans and our vision for the service. We gathered some very useful feedback, and will continue to work with families as the plans progress.”

The plans are on show at the Child Development Unit at Calderdale Royal Hospital and the Ellerslie Unit at PRCHC.
