So, with this is mind we are staging our first Learning from Deaths Summit on July 12. (see poster attached) and there are still places left.

Chris Pointon, the husband of the late Dr Kate Granger, is our special guest and will be sharing his experiences from her treatment for terminal cancer. As a result the couple launched the Hello My Name Is.. NHS campaign to improve communications.

After Chris’s talk, there will be the opportunity to learn from themes relating to End of Life, Specialist Palliative Care, Mortality Reviews, Engaging with Families and Death Certification. You will also be asked to share your thoughts about how you think we can improve and there will also be the opportunity to personally pledge on how you will try to improve the care of patients in relation to death and dying.

To register for this event please contact Shelley Adrian shelley.adrian@cht.nhs.uk to secure your place. We would encourage as many front line staff to come especially from inpatient wards and will prioritise places for clinical colleagues. Tea and coffee will be provided on the day and please feel free to bring lunch with you.
