Make May Purple for Stroke
From Monday 21st May until Friday 25th May the Acute Stroke and Rehabilitation Units are holding events to raise awareness of Stroke. To engage with patients, relatives and the community to provide information on reducing the risks of a Stroke and to recognise symptoms.
On Friday 25th, ward 7b at 2pm are throwing a party with a big invite for everyone to come along and join in the fun. If you can, wear something purple whether it just be a pin badge, lipstick or a scarf to get in the mood!
Lots of large local companies are donating raffle prizes, any money raised will help with patient amenities for the patient ‘wish list’
On Tuesday, volunteers are going to be pampering the patients on the ward, hair, make-up, nail painting, manicures and lots more to help our patients feel relaxed whilst in hospital.
A delicious bake sale will be going on selling cakes, muffins and cookies will be welcome and surely all eaten up so get there first. *All donations welcome.
The little Stroke Mascot Teddies will be out with their pedometer counting their steps. There will be Educational stand in the main reception / restaurant (to obtain greater footfall) - explaining how to reduce Stroke risk factors.
You can also go to ward 7 for blood pressure checks and to get involved with the event.
On the Sunday 27th Stepping outside: Jennifer Jackson our nutritional assistant on 7b invites everyone on the Todmorden Boundary Walk in aid of the Stroke Association with her.
The entry fee for is £10 per person, £8 for under 16s. Entry for the Pike Hike is £8 and £6 respectively. A surcharge of £2 per person will be applied to all entries received on the day of the event. For more information click here https://www.visitcalderdale.com/todmorden-boundary-walk-pik…
On Wednesday in the day room on 7b, patients, relatives and staff will be able to paint pebbes incorporation the Act FAST message with #strokestones # CHFT etc to help spread the word about strokes by leaving them around CRH and the local area.
