Starting on Monday our Trust is taking part in another national PJ Paralysis event - aimed at helping our patients, wherever possible to get up and dressed and along the road to a swifter recovery.
The campaign runs for 70 days from Monday 23rd April through to Monday 2nd July.
Helping patients into their day clothes, when they are fit enough, can help us improve their stay and outcomes with us by:
- Reducing the serious effects of deconditioning on our patients
- Encouraging engagement in meaningful and normal activity
- Helping orientate patients to time of day and encourage normal routines
- Enhancing the wellbeing of patients and colleagues
- Reducing reliance on long-term care
- Reducing length of stay
- Reducing loss of mobility and risk of falls
A recent pilot gave patients back 91,728 days or 250 years’ worth of time across nine trusts in the East of England as result of getting patients up and dressed. The aim with this national 70-day challenge is to have a million patient days captured back nationally in just 70 days.
