Brian Moore is our lead Governor and here he tells how he became involved with CHFT. He lives in Longwood and is retired after being a sale manager for 30 years and a former CEO of a buying group in the catering industry. All Foundation Trusts have members and the public governors are recruited from them in elections to represent our local communities. Brian became a governor in 2015. Our public govenors sit alongside our staff and stakeholders governors on the Council of Governors supporting the future direction and services for the Trust

How long have you been in the NHS and what made you want to join it?

I have been associated with the NHS for 70 years it has kept me in health for all that time. I became a Governor to hopefully play a small part in ensuring that CHFT continues to give the population of Kirklees and Calderdale an excellent healthcare service.

Why is the NHS special to you?

What makes the NHS special is that it is there for everybody, it makes no distinction between rich or poor, ethnicity, sexuality or disability.

What present would you buy it?

The present I would like to see for the NHS 70th birthday is that politicians stop using it as a political football and reorganise and fund it properly to bring the NHS back to being the finest health service in the world.

**All colleagues are welcome to take part.If you want to join our screensaver campaign then  answer the questions and email them back to chft@cht.nhs.uk - and Comms will do the rest.
