Colleagues from Estates & Facilities (E&F) and nursing colleagues current and former gathered to celebrate Chris Bentley's retirement - after a whopping 38 years at CHFT.
Chris started at the Trust in 1980 as a healthcare assistant in female orthopaedics, before starting her nurse training in 1981.
She worked all over HRI for those three years and qualified whilst working in ICU. Chris was seconded to the role of sister in 1988 and worked on the discharge unit, before returning to ICU.
Her other roles have included Critical Care Outreach Matron, working in Risk Management where she Project Managed NHSLA and in 2009 she took up her role as E & F matron.
Chris will be returning to a new part time role in a few weeks as Sister for discharge team.
Janette Cockroft will be stepping into Chris's shoes as new corporate matron for estates and facilities.
