We keep colleagues aware of relevant policy changes through this section of CHFT Weekly. Policies should be read via the policies and documents library on the intranet - please don't save them on your own computer as they may go out-of-date and you may miss important changes or points of note.
In the past few weeks there have been a number of policy reviews that the Board have agreed. Those with minor amends are not listed below as there is minimal impact on colleagues:

Full review undertaken and updated as per newer British Thoracic Society (BTS) guidance and after introduction of EPR. Sections amended:

Policy updated to include changes in processes/regulations due to:
- The implementation of EPR.
- Changes to regulations under the introduction of the Records Management Code of Practice for Health and Social Care 2016
- The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA)
- The Data Protection Act 1998 being superseded by the General Data Protection Regulations in May 2018 (GDPR)
- The Clinical Records Group has been replaced by the EPR change group - will jointly cover some of the governance and recommendations described as the responsibility of the clinical records
- group.
Removed from the policy:
- The Health Records interactive tool (due to the discontinuation of PAS)
- The casenote compliance audit has been removed due to EPR and also sections of this audit are no longer applicable
- The retention of casenotes audit and the disposal of records audit has been put on hold until further notice due to the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA)
- The Clinical Records Audit Standards (CRAS) put on hold, due to the implementation of EPR and the need for the audit tools to be completely revised
