Our Macmillan Cancer Information Service and the Cancer Nurse Specialists from the Trust hosted a Health and Wellbeing event at the Johns Smith's Stadium in Huddersfield.

The event was opened by our lead cancer nurse Christopher Button. Dr Hannah Gormley, our clinical psychologist , led the session on the emotional and psychological impact of cancer and spoke about a range of things patients can do to manage this, as well as talking about sources of support.

The event was aimed at patients who have recently completed treatment and are living with and beyond cancer.

A health and physical activity session was given by Julie Stott of Restart Fitness focusing on the importance of being healthy for cancer recovery.

Stands were available from the Macmillan Cancer Information service, the Trust's dieticians and also the Yorkshire Cancer patient Forum.  Eorl Crabtree former Huddersfield Giants player was passing and happily posed for a photograph as below!
