Ria Green's idea to save money came in after a visit too A&E with son Owen.

She said: "On Saturday afternoon I brought my son to A&E following a foot injury. He was referred to the fracture clinic for Monday 12th March and I was provided at the time with a letter printed out by the receptionist confirming the appointment. I was perfectly happy with this approach.

"A short time after, I had the exact same letter posted to my house in colour. The letter printed in A&E was in black and white and perfectly good enough.

"My thoughts are; does this need to be re-printed in colour and posted to me even though I already had it?  Could we save money in printing costs, envelope and postage? I also had a text message reminder."

Sharon Appleby, Transformation Programme Manager said: "We thank Ria for her suggestion, which is being considered by the Appointments and Records team."
