Our Gary Allchin, our security officer at CRH and former CHFT Star Award winner, has topped the lot by winning ISS Employee of the year - out of 45,000 people!  

And big-hearted Gary hailed it a win for ALL his colleagues at CRH. He said: "It was a great honour to receive this prestigious award from ISS. It was a massive do. This recognises not only my own contribution to the security team at Calderdale, but that of all my colleagues who work alongside me” reckons there was hundreds of people there - 'it was a massive do' with champagne on arrival."

The awards recognise outstanding achievements throughout the whole of the ISS business.  CRH's  ISS General Manager, Tracy Rawcliffe  was also a shortlisted finalist for ISS Manager of the Year.

Gary received his award from Rob Stanley, ISS Chief Operating Officer. The prestigious award was presented to Gary in recognition of his compassionate, and caring nature when dealing with a number of very difficult situations whilst carrying out his duties. He's received a number of compliments from patients, visitors and the Trust who had written to us commending Gary on his work. 

Tracy said: "Proudest moment as a General Manager for Gary a member of staff from Calderdale to win the Employee of the Year Award at the Leadership Conference 2018. Gary's outstanding compassion and care towards patients and visitors is truly inspirational and Trust also are so proud of his achievement”.

Philip Leigh, ISS Chief Operating Officer said "Having met Gary at Calderdale and seen the great work he does supporting the staff, visitors and patients of the hospital I was delighted that he won our Employee of the Year at our annual conference at the ExCel Centre in London.

"Being voted the very best of our 45,000 colleagues across the UK and Ireland is a tremendous result and something he should be very proud of. He got a standing ovation from the audience and I can honestly say it could not have gone to a more genuine person."

Val,  said "I think everyone in the hospital knows Gary. He has a word for everyone and always manages to get everyone smiling with his dry sense of humour.  I have also noticed that he has a lot of regular patients who come looking to him for assistance. His easy relaxed manner with patients clearly puts them at ease and often gets them laughing."
