43 years after starting as a student audiologist in Audiology in 1974 at the Royal Halifax Infirmary, Senior Chief Audiologist Janet Jackson retired....  but was back two weeks later as a bank audiologist helping the department.

Janet has been at the helm of Audiology since 1991 and has worked tirelessly to ensure the department has delivered the highest level of audiological care to all patients attending CHFT.  She has been diagnosing and supporting families of newborn hearing impaired infants for many years. Some of these children are now adults in their thirties with children of their own and have remarked how much she will be missed.

Janet was presented with a bouquet of flowers, wine and a selection of gift vouchers to mark her amazing achievement working here. There were fuddles at CRH and Acre Mills with the Audiology and ENT staff, drinks & curry evenings with colleagues past and present and others who wanted to wish her well.

Janet's going to be enoying retirement by keeping busy with travelling, walking, cooking, gardening and her next challenge is learning to crochet. We wish her all the best in the next chapter of her life.
