It's all about the caring, says CRH estates manager Val Rigg, the latest colleague to take part in our NHS 70th birthday year celebrations.

Every week we feature someone in a different role who loves being part of the NHS. If you want to be included then answer the three questions  below and email them back to chft@cht.nhs.uk and we'll sort a photo and do all the rest!.

Thanks, now over to Val.

How long have you worked in the NHS and what have you enjoyed?  I have worked for the NHS for 24 years.  The people and their pride in our hospitals and the services we provide are the reason I have enjoyed and still enjoy my work here.  The highlight for me has to be the opening of Calderdale Royal Hospital

Sum up what the  NHS means to you in a sentence?  Think this might have been used before! – Compassionate Care – it’s true though.

What special wish/present would give to celebrate the NHS’s platinum birthday and why?  It's got to be a wish for more funding, hasn’t it, so that the NHS can continue for another 70 years and more.
