Our baby-friendly standards are a high priority and we actively promote breastfeeding throughout the Trust.
We'll also do our best to help mums if we can. Read more on our responsibilities to breastfeeding mums here at CHFT.
Infant Feeding Advisor Marilyn Rogers told CHFT Weekly "We're proud to be accredited by UNICEF Baby Friendly initiative - designed to support breastfeeding and parent infant relationships.
"Whilst we encourage breastfeeding across our sites, we know that some mums would prefer a private space to feed their baby. Please try to accommodate requests from mothers on an individual basis whilst taking into consideration the needs of the service at that time. Realistically we know this means the provision of facilities may vary from area to area.
"It's important women don't feel uncomfortable about breastfeeding in public and the Equality Act 2010 made it illegal for anyone to ask a breastfeeding woman to leave a public place. The act states that it is sex discrimination to treat a woman unfavourably because she is breastfeeding.
