The CQC will be back with us for three days from Tuesday, April 3, it was confirmed this week. Since their last visit in March 2016 colleagues have been working extensively on an improvement programme based on their recommendations to build on our strengths and work on areas which could be better.
To help share what we've been working on, a "Learning from CQC" document has been produced and is available on our CQC page see Helpful Resources. Over the next few weeks we will be highlighting some of the most important aspects on our Trustwide screensavers.
We start today with what we have been doing in terms of making sure we get staffing right for both our Medical and Nursing Workforces - and it's the first must-do action in the document.
There is a wealth of useful information in the document - it's well worth a read to see all the things we've put in place to respond to the CQC. When they last visited two years ago they rated more than 70% of our services as good, yet our overall rating was "requries improvement".
Before the CQC carry out their well-led inspection in April they will make one or more unannounced visits to core services. Our CQC Handbook - attached - has been refreshed with hints on how we can prepare. Paper copies are being shared around our sites now.
