Sal's reponses..

How long have you worked in the NHS and what have you enjoyed?

I started working in the NHS  as a newly qualified junior doctor in August 1999 aged 23. My very first job was as the Urology house officer at what was then the Halifax Royal Infirmary. Since 2009 I’ve been a Consultant in the same trust where it all began over 18 years ago!

Sum up what the  NHS means to you in a sentence?

For me, the NHS is still the best healthcare system in the world that is available to us all, especially when we really need it.

What special wish/present would give to celebrate the NHS’s platinum birthday and why?

Whilst at times it struggles, I really wish that we never lose the NHS. We mustn’t take it for granted nor should we forget about all the people who work in it. The NHS has changed so much over the last 70 years and we all should support it to grow even more into the future. That might mean working differently, travelling further or simply take more care of ourselves. The NHS will mean something to absolutely everyone and so we all need to do our part to keep it going.
