Jacqui Howarth today sends her best wishes for the NHS 70th birthday this year. July 5 is the special day but CHFT is celebrating our wonderful organisation throughout 2018.

Jacqui - from surgery division - saw our first celebration screensaver featuring our chairman Andrew Haigh and took up the invitation to join in herself.  We want as many colleagues as possible to get involved. See the last line.

Here's Jacqui's thoughts in this momentous year for the NHS.

How long have you worked in the NHS and what have you enjoyed? 2nd February 1988 was when I started, I took just over a year out in 2012, so 29 years (including 6 months as a GP practice manager) this February.

Sum up what the  NHS means to you in a sentence?  Free healthcare for those that need it - I know the majority of us pay for it through taxes and NI but other countries charge so much more.

What special wish/present would give to celebrate the NHS’s platinum birthday and why?  Sufficient funds to provide an even better service to patients and rewards for selfless hard working staff.

If you would like to take part then answer the questions and send them to CHFT@cht.nhs.uk. We will need a photo which Comms can sort after we get your responses.
