Margaret Morris celebrated her 92nd birthday on Monday in the day room of Ward 19.

The support workers organised a small tea party with birthday cake for her and she had a smile on her face all the way through - despite her not liking a "big fuss".

Margaret was a nurse in the Armed Forces for the RAF through WW2, "I was only young". She was also a huge Beatles fan and went to all the concerts she could get too.

She has two sons and a daughter and when we asked how many grandchildren she has she said "I have that many I can't remember, but some of them are in London" but I do enjoy the company with my family. Her family came in later and they had a celebration in Costa.

Ward manager Mandy Naylor, said: "Margaret had been with us for a while and we thought it would be something nice for us to do for her . She's 92 and in hospital, she deserved a bit of a do.  She's a regular in the dayroom too so we held it there so she could celebrate with with all the other ladies."

Mandy praised the engagement support workers. "They do much for our patients they deserve a special shout-out!"
