Our paediatrician Sal Uka is joining a new NHS fast track scheme to turn clinicians into NHS leaders of the future.
He has been selected after a rigorous process to join the new Clinical Executive Fast Track scheme. All the successful candidates have been hailed for their "enthusiasm, passion and commitment". The scheme is a leadership development programme designed to engage and harness the talent of clinicians as leaders of healthcare systems of tomorrow.
Sal, associate medical director, said: "I feel honoured and proud to be selected for this scheme. I’m excited and looking forward to developing my leadership skills both for my own development and for the Trust. I’m also really grateful for the help and support in achieving this."
The NHS Leadership Academy which runs it says: "Participants will be guided and supported to reach executive leadership roles and work beyond personal and organisational hierarchies to lead integrated and inclusive systems with compassion and humility."
