Our fab intranet editors are working flat out to get their content ready for the switchover. So when you open your computer on the 24th  there'll be a brand new homepage as well as a new policies and documents library. This is the first revamp we've had for more than 10 years and we have built it based on feedback from colleagues.

 

You can read a full run down of what's changing on the new site, though here's a quick overview of the main changes:

 

  • Most of the information you need will be under one of four key areas: Clinical information, Non-clinical information, Training or Workforce and Organisational Development
  • We have a brand new policies and documents library too – this is where Trust policies and guidelines will be stored. We're working hard to get our policies all loaded for go-live, so if you don't see them at the moment don't worry. From the library there is access to the clinical documents repository, patient information leaflets and EPR SOPs
  • There are quick links to ESR, the phonebook, webmail and logging jobs on the home page
  • The About Us section is still being populated – but it’s where you’ll be able to find out more about each division, and this is where divisional news can be shared too.
  • We’ve also added a better search function – we’re not saying its Google, but it’s similar and far better than our current search
  • You'll still be able to access the current site with a button from the front page of the new site - at some point we'll have to shut down the current site, but we'll let you know when this is happening.

**Please note....Access to the main clinical and non-clinical apps and systems will no longer be from the intranet - all the apps can be accessed from the desktop now - see the image below for the icons

This is because these systems and apps run independently of the intranet - so you don't need to be in the intranet to access them

 

We’ll be sharing more information and hints and tips on banners and screensavers as we go-live – but for now you can take a look at the site via the new homepage.
