She's our latest Hello My Name Is....and is a cracking read. Well done Nicola!
Hello my name is… Nicola Ingle.
I am a proud mum of two beautiful teenagers and a rescue dog called Benji. I wanted to tell everyone about my achievements this year, and how I've got colleagues involved too. I started running 18 months ago, following pneumonia and never wanting to feel that ill again. I started with Huddersfield Parkrun and through going there, I met runners from Acre Street Runners, based next to HRI, then started running regularly. Since then I've entered numerous 10k races, half marathons, 10 miles, 20 miles, and In October completed my first marathon, followed by my first ultra marathon (30 miles). I've also qualified as a run leader, set up a beginners running group, and got some colleagues involved, they have just entered their first 10k race. I've also set up a trail-running beginners' group, learnt some navigational skills, and will hopefully be a Mountain Rescue Volunteer in the New Year.
