Yet again our junior doctors' in Acute Internal Medicine have given CHFT a massive thumbs up as a training trust in the premier General Medical Council (GMC) survey!.

We've been voted again best in overall satisfaction in West Yorkshire (as we traditionally have been), and this year our results are so good we're in the top three nationally for acute medicine training.

Passion, top team work and support from our doctors and nurses, pictured, and hosting a Trainees' Forum so they can have their say, are the key to why we're so good, according to training lead Rangaprasad Karadi. Every year the GMC asks doctors to rate their training to ensure standards are way up.

He heads up the training in Medicine, along with Suneeta Teckchandani and Nick Scriven is the clinical lead for Acute Medicine. Dr Karadi, said: " The passion from everyone in the acute team - all our doctors and all our nurses -  to providing the support  for our trainee doctors is central. We are also very receptive to the trainees and that is reflected in this rating. They feel they can voice their opinion and that it is valued.

"We have a good system structurally, with a robust ambulatory network and they are encouraged to get involved with procedures such as lumbar punctures and fluid aspiration. We also encourage them to get involved with Quality Improvement projects."
