This week is Dying Matters week and our staff have been manning the entrances to offer  advice to patients, visitors and staff.

They have been promoting the message of ‘Talk, Plan, and Live’ to raise awareness and trying to make death not a taboo subject.

The stands were in the entrances of HRI on 19th of May at HRI and 21st of May at CRH.

The HRI stand was hosted by Mary Kiely, Helen Harris and Rachel Lodge

Palliative care consultant Mary Kiely said: "The focus of Dying Matters awareness week is about encouraging people to think and talk about those things that are important to them about end of life. Talking about dying is still a taboo subject but there can be a lot of positive experiences in sharing wishes and hopes as well as fears."

At the CRH stand they were joined by Overgate Hospice for the week to  promote the same message.
