We are producing online monthly payslips around a week earlier in December to give colleagues time raise any queries ahead of the ESR shutdown.

Payday is Friday December 22 and online payslips will be available from Monday December 18 at the latest.

IBM* will be shutting the system down between Wednesday 27 December 2107 and Tuesday 2nd January 2018 for essential maintenance and upgrades and this could impact colleagues with  payroll queries.

What does this mean for me or my colleagues?

  • Colleagues paid monthly will be paid on Friday 22 December. Normally any issues could be resolved with payroll on that day - but because of the Christmas holidays, we are encouraging colleagues to look at their payslips in advance 
  • Colleagues who work bank shifts during the week of 4 December will be paid for these on Friday 22 December and we are doing all we can to make the online payslip available earlier
  • Colleagues who work bank shifts during the week of 11 December will be paid for these on Friday 29 December. Because ESR will be unavailable, the payroll team will be unable to resolve queries until after 2 January, which is when the online payslip will also be available. Paper payslips will be distributed as usual
  • No e-learning can be carried out during the whole shut down period
  • Additionally colleagues and managers won't be able to book annual leave or sickness on ESR during this time. It will have to be recorded chronologically after the system is up and running again

What are we doing to help?

  • We will be sharing online payslips for monthly paid staff by Monday 18th December at the latest (we will make sure colleagues know when they are available to view)
  • This means you can contact payroll earlier than payday with any queries. As soon as ESR is switched off, these won't be resolved until after Tuesday 2nd January 
  • We’d recommend contacting payroll before midday on 22 December with any queries
  • Managers will receive an update in advance as a reminder

Our payslips are always available at least three days in advance in ESR, if not earlier. Just access the ESR portal and look at the My Payslip section.
