He pulled on his blue suede shoes and, as ever, did his bit for charity helping Children in Need to a record-breaking fundraiser of a year.

Let's face it our driver Barry Ackroyd knows how to raise a smile at work -  despite spending his days on the Elland by-pass. He raised more than £160 on the day and will be very soon dusting off his elf kit for the Christmas celebrations.

So this is a good time to ask all CHFT to tell us about your fun and charity efforts in the next few weeks. The sooner the better so we can give them a shout out - and plan photos - right across the Trust.

** Our Children's Ward also got into the spirit

** The lure of Paul the BBC Look North weatherman in Brighouse drew Becky and Bryde from the webteam out of their office.

** The Cancer Information Service hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning within the Jayne Garforth Information Centre at Calderdale Royal Hospital. The event was attended by staff, patients and their families including Mr David Garforth husband of the late Jayne Garforth.  Headstrong service and Information service volunteers helped with serving teas and coffees and selling tombola prizes.

  A raffle, tombola and the sale of  cakes, buns tea and coffee  raised  a grand total of £651.87   for Macmillan Cancer Support.

** Ward 11 at HRI cardiology/ respiratory ward had a raffle and cake bake to raise money for children in need the raised 225.00 pounds.

** Tracy Schofield from HRI Switch Board organised a sweep stake duck race selling 20 ducks at £2 a go. £20 went to the Children in Need charity and £20 to the winner. The winner was Nigel Murphy in Estates with Golden duck!
