Colleagues at The Health Informatics Service recently carried out an exercise to test their business continuity plans.

The table top exercise (TTE) was specifically focused on Business Continuity (BC) Management and Service Managers.  The aim was to test the THIS BC Plan, raise awareness, review the plan and criticise the requirements for any changes regarding service disruptions and developing challenges to the critical infrastructure of the Trust.

Ian Kilroy, pictured standing, our Trust resilience & security management specialist told CHFT:  "During the exercise, emergency preparedness, resilience and response (EPRR) tools were identified to use, apply and implement responses strategies to initial operational recovery. Integrated Emergency Management is a fundamental connection for all specialised services to get involved in the process.

"The group really understood the importance of why they were doing it and got engaged with the whole process so they knew how to recover and respond in a timely and professional precise moment to critical situations”
