Our Chief nurse Brendan Brown’s been doing his bit for the ‘flu campaign with a visit to A&E and Orthopaedic outpatients at CRH today.

More than half our frontline staff have now been vaccinated and all will go into our prize draw next week and a chance of winning the £100 shopping vouchers top prize.

One colleague said he’d never had ‘flu in 34 years, so didn’t think he’d need it. Joint 'flu lead Christine Bouckley, who was with Brendan explained that as a healthcare worker he may not develop the symptoms of the ‘flu but that he could still carry and spread it amongst patients and his family. Once he knew that he quickly had his jab.

Brendan also received compliments from everyone he vaccinated today as they commented on his gentle technique.

We’ve tried to dispel some of the myths on our intranet page – but if you have any questions or want to know more please contact Occupational Health or email flu.CHFT@cht.nhs.uk

** Prize Draw: All colleagues who have had their jab here at CHFT, or who have told us they’ve had it at their GP or community pharmacy by Sunday 12 November will go into a hat to win one of five prizes; a top prize of £100 in high street vouchers or one of four £50 vouchers.
