Raising awareness, funds and a smile! -  Fun Day!

Staff and patients on the Acute Stroke Unit 7C and Stroke Rehabilitation wards at CRH came together last Monday 30th October, to mark ‘World Stroke Day 2017’.

The fun day allowed staff to offer information on reducing the risk factors of a stroke. Blood pressure monitoring and health promotion was also available.

Staff raised more than £200 by selling cakes and the proceeds are going to new ward equiqment.

Wearing shocking purple wigs and purple hair bows staff also raised smiles. Staff had fun taking it in turns to use an exercise bike and work up a sweat. This was to promote another reducing factor of a stroke to exercise for 30 minutes a day.

All in the cause of marking World Stroke Day 2017. Our event fitted in with the UK media campaign which highlights the cost of a stroke.

Many thanks to all the staff, relatives and patients who took part in the fun day!!
