Here’s the CHFT Class of 2017 – our new graduates from the Moving Forward initiative.
CHFT colleagues from Black and Asian Minority Ethnic backgrounds joined the course for the first time. It has been run by Bradford Teaching Hospitals and Bradford District Care Trust for the past three years and this year they opened their doors to external candidates.
The course is a combination of e-learning, coursework and classroom learning in Bradford two days a month and is aimed at helping colleagues to progress in their careers through new skills learned.
Procurement’s Errol Brown, who has been at our Trust for 31 years, was one of the CHFT cohort.
He said: “ For me personally it was brilliant, all the modules were interlinked/appropriate and I can share the skills and knowledge learned with other Trust colleagues. The Emotional intelligence module was especially interesting as understanding/managing behaviour and emotions assists with good decision making and leadership.
The course also involved aspects of networking between colleagues of all roles across our Trust and Bradford.
Errol added: “I would recommend it to anyone when it restarts. It gives you the confidence to progress in your chosen career and clarity around the next steps required for ‘Moving Forward’. It also gives you knowledge and skills which can be utilised within your own work environment.”
The course also offer modules on support networks, resilience, positive thinking and interview techniques.
