Next week is #jabathon week across the UK, so there will be a flurry of activity at CHFT - including the chance to win high street vouchers. And to support our 'flu campaign, some of our top team had their 'flu immunisation training today.

Chief nurse Brendan Brown was joined by his deputy Linsday Rudge, modernisation lead Jackie Murphy and CHFT returning occupational health practitioner Geraldine Gledhill in their training, given by Christine Bouckley, one of our 'flu leads.

Brendan said "I'm a registered nurse, so anything I can do to make sure we protect as many colleagues as possible has got to be worth it.

"We know that Australia and New Zealand are experiencing their worst 'flu season in many years and all trusts received a letter* from Professor Bruce Keogh, Professor Dame Sally Davies and many other senior health service figures.

"This is a timely reminder as the winter pressures really start to build, about how much additional pressure we would face if there was an outbreak at CHFT."

Any colleague who has had their vaccination, or self-declared that they've had it elsewhere by Sunday 12th November will have their name put into a hat. We have a top prize of £100 in high street vouchers and four additional £50 vouchers for the first five names picked.

We'll announce the winners a fortnight today....good luck!
