Our Trust hosted a clinical trial for Yorkshire Ambulance Service colleagues in the Simulation Suite at HRI, on Wednesday May 13th.

The training opportunity was in response to a regional request

The Yorkshire Ambulance Service is participating in ARIWAYS-2, which is a clinical trial to determine the best method of airway management in pre-hospital cardiac arrest. The aim of the study is to establish whether the i-gel, a second-generation supraglottic airway device, is superior to tracheal intubation in non-traumatic out of hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) in adults.

Senior Fellow Ivor Kovic said: “AIRWAYS-2  is a very important clinical trial aimed at the outer hospital care, which also benefits our Trust. The training opportunity has helped our Trust to establish connections with YAS for the future.”
