CRH maternity department welcomed visitors from neighbours at Leeds and Pennine trusts to look at their K2 Maternity ERP system.
The aim was to help them as they prepare to go live with elements of the system in their trusts.
At CHFT, our Maternity Electronic System captures all aspects of obstetric care within the Athena and Guardian package. Athena includes all the antenatal and postnatal care in the community: antenatal clinic appointments and inpatients. Guardian includes care at the bedside for any woman in labour. This includes the ability to view on a central display fetal monitoring.
Leeds Teaching Hospital have been using Guardian element for approx. four years and are implementing the Athena element before the end of the year, capturing all antenatal and postnatal care for women.
The aim of the visit was to view how we managed the project prior to go to live; how it was successfully implemented and understanding what the electronic system would give them after going live and business has gone back to normal.
The visit was hosted by EPR midwives Carol Gregson and Emma Hardwidge, along with project manager David Armitage and divisions’ information manager Mark Butterfield.
The morning included a presentation, a Q&A with staff and a tour to see the electronic system in use.
The feedback from the event was very positive and included: " You always leave me feeling very positive about K2 and I always come back feeling inspired and full of knowledge."
This positive feedback makes us appreciate the progress we have made in a relatively short space of time and also how we continue through this networking with other Trusts to enhance our electronic patient record.
