Here's your first peek at CHFT's brand new intranet - our first redesign for more than 10 years.
It's been tidied up, trimmed back and generally made easier to use. We're running it alongside the current site so colleagues can see it, use it and comment on it while we continue to train page editors and support colleagues in building their content prior to switching off the old site later in the year.
It retains the rolling banner (which you can manually click through rather than wait for the right one to come around), and all the favourite and important buttons such as webmail and phone book, quick job log and ESR access.
And amongst a host of new features are:
* Policies and Documents Library where eventually all our policies and documents will be stored to make them easier to access and search for
* All training will be accessed in one section
* A breaking news style "ticker" replaces the important messages
* And there's a real focus on colleagues' successes with our Star Award, CHFT Weekly and all social media posts
Clinical tools went on desktops this week to make them easier to access without opening the intranet.
It's was re-designed and reworked by a Task and Finish group over many months (so many thanks to them) and in response to a survey of colleagues asking what they wanted on the new intranet and what was important to them. There were literally hundreds of pages of out-of-date information going back years and we have worked with the page editors to ensure only the essential pages remained.
We hope we've got it right, but it is still early days and very much a work in progress, so we've included a feedback form on the new site (just click the banner on the new site) so you can send us your thoughts.
And of course...we'll give colleagues plenty of advance notice before we switch off the current site.
Take a look at the site here and we've also included a news item from the ticker on the new homepage explaining more about it. Read it here.
