Our winter flu vaccination season starts next month - and for every colleague who has their jab this year, CHFT will donate the equivalent of 10 tetanus vaccinations to Unicef. So...the perfect person to introduce it is consultant microbiologist Sahar - who was born and trained in the Sudan and has seen Tetanus first-hand.
Dr Musaad told CHFT Weekly "This is such a great initiative to run. I worked for four months in paediatrics in the Sudan and have seen children die of tetanus – it genuinely does happen! I’m a huge believer in vaccination. Just look back and see how it’s changed the world".
Last year's flu campaign really took off with more than 76% of frontline colleagues having their vaccination, joining many hundreds more (including a certain Mr Spiderman) across the Trust in helping prevent the spread of the winter flu.
The flu team and the divisional leads have been beavering away ready to crack on this year. We know our vaccinations are on the way, we're expecting our chocs/sweets to arrive soon and we'll be asking colleagues to share their messages about flu like they did last year.
Our campaign will officially start on Monday 2 October through to the end of December.
