Over the past few months the catering department have carried out an extensive procurement process involving colleagues, patients and Governors and we are about to start serving our new food to patients at HRI. This is the first time we've completed a joint tendering process with Bradford and Leeds Trusts.

With this buying power, the group were able to look into value for money and food quality to give our patients a better tastebud experience.

Tillery Valley was the winner - who are also the UK's market leaders in healthcare catering. They deliver high quality, nutritionally balanced meals to more than 120 hospitals and healthcare groups across the UK and have been supplying to the NHS for over 30 years.

The new menus will start over the coming weeks with patient favourites staying on the menu like roast beef and yorkie puds. Along with some new dishes like chicken and pepers in a mushroom sauce.

Head chef Adrian Brown said "A lot of work has been going on behind the scenes to change the menus. Colleagues have really pulled together in a relatively short space of time to ensure there is no impact on the catering service when the crossover takes place".
