Mencap in Kirklees is a learning disability charity that was formed in 1946 to support local people with learning disabilities. Over the years we have grown and now work with adults in the Kirklees area across a range of services.
We deliver care in the community, residential homes and day services. We deliver a successful employment training scheme and a number of social groups. It is these latter services alongside our popular Safe Places project, a scheme to promote independent travel, that require external funding and where funds from the ball will be of most benefit. These services enable our service users to lead full and purposeful lives reducing isolation and providing opportunities to grow and develop.
So we're hosting a charity ball at The Casa in Brighouse on the 7th October. Numbers must be finallised by the 25th August - see poster for more information.
