A new social worker walk-in service has opened called Better Lives at Number 42.  It’s on Market Street in Halifax, opposite Tesco - and it's available for everyone in Calderdale for support.

Better Lives is a base for a team of social workers providing accessible, face-to-face advice, information and support to adults in Calderdale.

They can help by:

• Providing general information about health and well-being.
• Promoting independence and preventing people from needing formal services like home care and residential care.
• Offer support to carers.
• Providing information about telecare: pendant alarms and other technology.
• Providing information about equipment and adaptations for your home.
• Providing information and support with accessing community groups and social activities.

We also have the Citizens Advice Bureau Drop In every Wednesday morning who can help with benefits, housing, debt issues etc.

This is a walk-in service.
