As part of your appraisal and the new pay progression policy it's important to be up-to-date with your eLearning. As well as using a computer on your ward or department there are lots of other ways to access IT to do it.

Weekly open learning sessions

The Information Technology (IT) rooms in Calderdale Royal Hospital (CRH) & Huddersfield Royal Infirmary (HRI) hold open learning days once a week. Colleagues can book computers on these days to complete their mandatory e-learning programmes and IT staff are on hand to help anyone who may be struggling.

  • Calderdale Royal Hospital IT Training Suite - every Tuesday 9.30 - 4.30pm.
  • Huddersfield Royal Hospital, IT Training Suite - every Wednesday 8.30 - 7.00pm

To book a place please email the Training team on:  training@this.nhs.uk

Please ensure you book your place before arriving at the suites - there may be places available for you if you turn up without booking but as there are a limited number of computers available, it is best to book first to guarantee your space.

Library and Learning Centres

Colleagues can use the Library at CRH during office hours, when they can also ask colleagues for help. In the Learning Centre at HRI there is a resource room with four computers available. Just drop-in any time between 8.30am and 5pm Mon-Thurs, and 8.30pm and 4.30pm on Fridays.

Talk to workforce development

Call HRI x 5690 or ext 5438

You can log into ESR from your own computer at home

You can only do this if you use a user name and password to access ESR (as your smartcard won't work). Read more here.

If all else fails you can also borrow equipment

Workforce and Organisational Development have laptops which can be loaned out to colleagues, either at a hot desk, another room in the Trust, or by arranging remote access from your own home.

There are some things to do before you can do this so please read more here.
