This week, in conjunction with our Falls Awareness activity at CHFT we've launched a new themed learning newsletter - created specifically on feedback from colleagues and teams on the best way to share information. And matron Janette has a starring role in the first edition!
Our Chief Nurse Brendan Brown has written to ward managers with a copy of the newsletter (see below). He said "I am delighted to share our new Sharing Learning-Improving Care newsletter. It's been created to help share the learning from our incidents and complaints and is based on feedback we’ve had from our teams about how to share learning across the Trust.
"Our aim is to share the findings from investigations, not just with those who were involved, but to a wider audience who can help to reduce the likelihood of similar incidents happening."
This is the first of a series of themed learning (which complements our Bite Sized Learning in CHFT Weekly), and focusses on falls. Colleagues suggested sharing the front and back page content at team meetings and safety huddles, and using the centre spread as a poster in the staff area of their ward or department.
If you have any ideas for future themed learning topics, please contact Laura Malik, in the Quality Directorate on ext 2755 at HRI or via laura.malik@cht.nhs.uk.
