We have welcomed a new group of nurses to CHFT.
Their inductions went throughout last week and in amongst the new intake.
CHFT has an emerging excellent reputation for supporting and training up new nurses. It seems they love the support from our educators and the in-patient training opportunities. Their verdicts include: "highly enjoyable", "lovely", "best placement ever" and "fantastic, fantastic, fantastic."
Practice Learning facilitator, Yvonne Hardcastle, said she was thrilled with the feedback. "Wow….. what a great job our clinical teams are doing at supporting the health professional of the future. CHFT embraces learning and welcomes students into our professional teams and go the extra mile to make them feel part of the workforce."

The Team in Huddersfield were all brilliant and so lovely and supporting my learning needs and making me feel welcome. My mentor was so supportive and professional - a true role model. I feel so lucky to have observed and learnt from such a brilliant midwife!

Fantastic placement, fantastic care, fantastic learning experience

Despite the Trust being in the middle of learning to use a new system which meant the nurses had less time on their hands, every single member of staff that I came into contact with made a lot of effort to ensure that the placement was a valuable learning experience.
I was sad for this placement to end. I found it valuable, motivating and extremely educational
the best placement i have had so far. i enjoyed it so much that i am going to apply for a job here once i qualify! the staff are amazing, even though they had their own jobs to do and were busy at times, they had the whole time in the world to come help you! they are such a good bunch and i will miss them very much.

I would recommend this placement as a valuable learning experience. I learnt a lot during my time on this ward, my knowledge was increased and i achieved everything that I wanted to and my confidence in my abilities has grown massively.
I really enjoyed my placement and I was sad to leave, all staff were friendly and helped when needed. They all gave me great feedback on what I had done well and what needed improvement. I would recommend this ward to my friends for placements as well as jobs in the future. if I live in Huddersfield when I qualify I would certainly apply for a Job

Another fabulous placement. Lovely setting and fabulous team of staff. Was made to feel very welcome. Was encouraged to ask questions and engage in discussion and debate about midwifery practices. Had lots of learning opportunities

The whole team was fantastic. They constantly sought opportunities for me to observe and practice new skills. The whole team were very supportive of students and really wanted us to have the best learning experience within the team.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the team, they have all been very helpful and very focused on me making the most out of my time with them. My mentor was brilliant and always had time to teach me, answer any of my questions and provide me with learning experiences despite her busy caseload.

The brilliant educators were really efficient, organised and excellent at giving opportunities. Both made this a fantastic experience for me on my placement. They took time out of their busy schedules to help me with my learning objectives and planned their weeks around me meeting my objectives. I have learnt a lot on this placement and enjoyed every minute of it.
