After 30 years in the NHS (20 on our orthopaedic ward) Wendy Smith is bowing out.
She started as a domestic at Storthes Hall and worked at Mill Hill and Urology Ward at HRI when it was Ward 11. She was also a hairdresser.
Colleagues and friends laid on a buffet and presentation on Ward 19.
She said: " I have always liked working with people, it is all about teamwork. They are all nice lassies and lads on here. I am old school where working together and looking after each other is so important."
Engagement worker and colleague Debbie Brewin, said " We aren't colleagues, we are friends and always there for each other."
Wendy plans to spend time bowling at Marsh Lib Club and with her family including son and daughter and two granddaughters.
Her gifts included bouquets including flowers made of sweets, pictured left.
