Trophies modelled on surgical instruments were handed out at the annual departmental night out at The Fleece, Barkisland.

An igel is a breathing device for when patients are anaesthetised. There were also trophies shaped like facemasks, retractors and dissectors!

Dr Steven Hill arranged awards  on a Masked Ball Theme and styled the trophies. And colleagues turned out in an amazing array of masks. (see attached pics) 

Staff voted for their favourites and the results were:

Staff Nurse Jane Roebuck was the initial organiser, Staff Nurse Deborah Alexander collected raffle prizes from various sources including a Leeds United signed shirt, tickets to a Huddersfield Town home team, beauty treatments, a day's golfing, £100 voucher from CASA hotel and restaurant, Brighouse, and an over-night stay including dinner and breakfast at The Fleece, Barkisland and many more.

£400 is going to Overgate Hospice, Halifax. A raffle prize was auctioned by a guest and a further £100 is going to a charity of their choice.

Next year's ball will be on June 29th at The Fleece, Barkisland, the theme is Bollywood, tickets will go on sale at the end of January 2018.
