Community HCA Elaine Taylor hung up her car keys this week, as she retired from her role supporting wound care throughout Brigg Royd and Calderdale at CHFT, saying "I'm going to miss my patients so much".

Elaine worked two days and two nights each week.  She told us on her last day:  "I absolutely love my job and I've enjoyed every moment. Seeing patients in their own homes, and very often with their families, means I get to find out lots more than I might in a hospital setting.

"My mum worked for 47 years as a sister in casualty at the old Infirmary in Halifax. I followed in her footsteps, working there for 25 years before moving roles. And now the time has come for me to take a break and spend the time with my grandsons who live in Cumbria.

"It will be strange not working weekends, but I'm sure I'll get used to it and they'll certainly keep me on my toes!".

Senior Receptionist, Linda Mitchell, based at Allan House, said: "I have worked with Elaine for nearly 13 years. She has been a valued member of the team over that period of time and will be sadly missed both by staff and especially patients, but she deserves some time to do the things she enjoys and I wish her lots of luck in her future adventures".
