CHFT Comms team is celebrating this week as last year's placement student Heidi Hawkins smashed a first class degree in Business Management - despite spending most of the year with a broken leg!
Heidi sustained a tumble (!) on the first day of her holiday in Bulgaria last September. She was in hospital with two breaks in her leg and underwent surgery. Her recovery wasn't helped that she fell on the ward and smashed her front tooth out.
However, she battled on with her studies on her return with checkups and physio galore - and this week discovered she has achieved the top level degree from Huddersfield University. Heidi was the student placement from 2015-16 - the fourth student who has spent a year on placement with CHFT Comms.
She said: " I will never forget this year. To end it like this is amazing and I want to thank everyone who has supported me throughout it all. Celebrations are well underway and I plan to stay on two feet.
"I would also like to say I will never forget my year at CHFT with the Trust's Comms team in Acre House. I learned so much in such a short time. It was a brilliant experience - despite the dodgiest boiler ever.!
