The Big Lunch has been doing something different this year in the run up to Big Lunch day this Sunday 18th June. On Monday May 29th, ten walkers set out on The Great Big Walk - and two of them visited CRH to see the work that has been happening in the wellbeing garden there.
Setting off from Batley, West Yorkshire, where Jo Cox was MP, the five teams of walkers will be home in time to join The Big Lunch as the highlight of The Great Get Together celebrations inspired by Jo Cox, and marking the first anniversary of her death.
Two walkers from Northern Ireland, Olivia Cosgrove & Noel Johnston (pictured below arriving) visited the Trees for Wellbeing Project and all the team at CRH on May 30th, taking in the story of the project and all the plants and trees that are now flourishing, whilst tasting some teas inspired by the garden, to celebrate a year of collaborative working. The project is also supported by Food for Life and Royal Horticulture Society, and works in partnership with Incredible AquaGarden. The walkers met with Beth Morgan, Trees for Wellbeing Project Coordinator, the Trees for Wellbeing volunteer team, and of course some of our CRH colleagues; Christine Bouckley, Val Rigg and Nigel Murphy (all in main picture).
