Tony Gent - our popular Fruit and Veg man from HRI will be starting at CRH next Monday 12th June in the main entrance.

He'll be there every Monday and Tuesday, initially offering fruit for sale. So stay healthy and get that 5 a day in!

Tony will continue to be at HRI on Wednesday to Friday each week.

Give it a Grow - is being held on Tuesday 20 June.. You can get tips on growing low maintenance crops, find out more about the benefits of growing and take home some veg plants to grow at home.

As part of the Food for Life Hospital Programme, funded by the Calderdale Clinical Commissioning Group, Garden Organic is delivering the day of hands-on, informative workshops to inspire you and others to get involved in growing, as part of ongoing growing activities at the hospital. CRH has a great growing area which can be used to improve health & wellbeing, have a positive effect on the local wildlife and grow food. If you would like to know  more then please join us for these workshops.

You will be able to pick up lots of tips for how to grow your own food and attract wildlife and there are a range of practical activities where you will be able to have a go and learn more.

For information on the hospital's long-term gardening projects, Trees for Wellbeing and Incredible AquaGarden, will be available in the foyer throughout the day sharing what they have been doing.

Session times:

  • 10.30 to 1pm 
  • 1.30pm to 3pm
