The Health Informatics Service, who have been raising money for a number of years through dress down days each month, raised £500 this year which has been donated to the MacMillan Cancer Unit.

The charity which is chosen by THIS staff, contribute £1 each month for dress down Friday which is the last Friday of the month.

Previously money raised has been donated to the CHFT Funds, Overgate Hospice, Kirkwood Hospice and Wakefield Hospice.

Lead Cancer Nurse, Julie Hoole added “It’s such a simple idea yet so successful, this £500 will go towards staff education and patient equipment to improve patients  facilities on the unit. It all makes a difference for patient care.”

Business Manager Tracy Mundell said “We enjoy having the opportunity to dress down each month and by donating £1 each towards a charity makes it even better.  It was lovely to meet Julie and some of her team on the unit and we are delighted that this will go towards improving the patient experience.
