Our surgical team cut a dash at the BMJ Finals last Thursday in London.
They didn't win their category on the big night but they wowed Westminster in their black tie outfits. There were 275 entries nationally and the team from Imperial College Healthcare Trust won Surgical Team of the Year!
But we reckon there won't have been a better turned out team - topped by Will Ainslie in a kilt!
Will, who is Scottish, explains. " It is the Scott tartan. It is from the maternal side of the family. I bought it for my graduation in 1993, still fits and is indestructible! And no I'm not answering the obvious problem."
Will also gets a lovely shout-out in the EPR story which comes from HRI's Surgical Assessment Unit this week.
Arin Saha submitted the entry for their work on consultants' rotas which has improved outcomes after emergency surgery.
He said: "It was always an achievement to even reach the finals. We were up against some real big guns."
