Janet Morrison was all shook up at the lengths her colleagues went to for a spectacular retirement send-off.

They hired a vintage bus for a mystery tour, told her to keep the day free and went to Howarth where an Elvis impersonator was waiting for a special performance.

Resplendent in 50s tea dresses, Janet said: " I love Elvis and he was there for us only."

Janet, at the Trust for 14 years, said: " It was all overwhelming, it  has been really special. We have a great social life as well as working as a team here on the unit. I have absolutely loved my job - my colleagues and my patients too. It has been a privilege to call myself a nurse."

She trained at former Halifax General in the late 70s but left and moved to Birmingham as it was the time of  the Yorkshire Ripper who killed a women on the Moor close to where the cadets lived and near the hospital.

She had a family then returned 14 years ago.

Her son Peter is an RAF fighter jet pilot who was once Prince William's boss when the Prince was a helicopter pilot and living on Angelsey with Kate. Peter  taught the Prince navigation and went on William's stag do. He has also flown in a fly-past for the Queens Jubilee in formation of E2R.

Janet is looking forward to spend more time with Peter and her grandchildren Chloe and Rebecca.

Colleagues crammed into the buffet room on Surgical Procedure Unit at HRI and there was so many the corridor was packed too. They presented her with gifts from Chanel and Pandora.

A special cake was baked with all the buns with little eyes and masks as Janet works in ophthalmology.
