Tomorrow (Friday May 5) is International Day of the Midwife - tomorrow's highlights include:

* Owen and Helen Barker judging the Bake Off at noon at CRH. Get your entry into reception by noon.

*  video booth

* Pamper sessions for midwives at CRH

* afternoon tea on the Birth Centre at Huddersfield.

The day has a hashtag of #IDM2017 and the Royal College of Midwives have themed it  Partners: Midwives.Mothers.Families.

Here's a few facts!

* our midwives deliver around 6,000 babies a year at all centres and in homes

* 4,700 babies have been born at the Huddersfield Birth Centre since it opened10 years

*  mums-in-labour choose background music ranging from Mozart to Motorhead

* chocolate is the most in demand food during labour

* tea and toast most requested afterwards!

**Next Friday - it's Nurses' day and this time the celebrations will be at HRI with another video booth and Bake Off. The RCN rep will be attending and a local MP will be joining in too.
